Washington, D.C. — House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Energy and Commerce Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), Congresswoman Stephanie Bice (R-OK), and Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA) introduced legislation today called the Babies Need Formula Now Act to increase the baby formula supply for parents as soon as possible. 

Washington, D.C.- Representative Stephanie Bice (R-OK) introduced the Security Clearance Portability for Departing Servicemembers Act with Representative Mike Turner (R-OH) and Representative Elissa Slotkin (D-MI). This legislation aims to expand employment opportunities for departing servicemembers to transition into civilian national security contractor positions by making it easier to transfer Department of Defense (DoD) security clearances. Specifically, the bill would require DoD to treat previously held security clearances as active for the purposes of future employment for one year after a servicemember leaves military service. Beyond that one-year window, the bill would facilitate rapid reactivation (less than 180 days) up to the third year after separation from the military. The bill includes safeguards to prevent clearance reactivation for those who separate under other than honorable conditions, and for those who have a pending investigation for potentially disqualifying behavior. This policy would equally apply for departing DoD civilians. 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, amid a crisis-level infant formula shortage in the United States, U.S. Reps. Stephanie Bice (R-OK) and Randy Feenstra (R-IA) introduced the Formula Act, which is legislation that would direct the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to establish and communicate to Congress clear standards by which it domestically regulates infant formula. These standards would in turn be applied to foreign infant formula to allow formula imports and support domestic manufacturers.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Stephanie Bice’s bill, H.R. 5324, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Radio Modernization Act, passed the U.S. House of Representatives. This legislation directs NOAA to address the outdated technology currently in use throughout its weather radio system. In addition, it provides funding for stations that serve areas that have little or no reliable quality cell phone service, ensuring that these areas receive adequate support to maintain existing systems relating to weather alerts, such as earthquakes, avalanches, chemical releases, or tornadoes. Lastly, this legislation establishes a modernization initiative for broadcasts to transition to IP-based communications and develop options for backup capabilities and enhanced signal transmission. This bill paves the way for future development and provides failsafe options, so the National Weather Radio (NWR) is never down for an extended period and outages will be less frequent.
