Values

As a fourth-generation Oklahoman, I am proud to bring our home state values to the halls of Congress. As a Christian and a mother, I believe in the sanctity of human life and have consistently voted to protect the unborn. I believe the Constitution is clear in protecting the right to life and will work to ensure that taxpayer dollars aren’t used to fund abortion. I am also a gun owner and believe that the Second Amendment is a key freedom that is responsibly exercised by millions of law-abiding Americans. I will oppose radical efforts in Congress that would limit this important right.

As we enter 2024, many of us throughout Oklahoma are setting goals for the New Year. This is a time to focus on what we would like to accomplish and things we would like to achieve. For the remainder of this Congress, I will be working to deliver results and increase quality of life for Oklahomans throughout the Fifth Congressional District. These efforts will focus on two major initiatives: safeguarding our nation and revitalizing our economy.
The right to vote is a fundamental aspect of our Democracy. Over the past few decades, confidence in our elections has been shaken. We must restore the American people’s faith in our democratic system. The American Confidence in Election (ACE) Act is an important step in the right direction.
I hope my fellow Oklahomans enjoyed Independence Day weekend celebrating with families and friends. It was my honor to participate in observations across the Fifth District of Oklahoma throughout the holiday weekend, honoring our veterans, service members and fellow citizens during this special celebration of our many freedoms. It is also important to take time to remember the true meaning of this important holiday for our nation.
Monday, the Supreme Court rightfully sided with a high school football coach, known as Coach Kennedy, in a First Amendment case about post-game prayers at the 50-yard-line. This decision is an incredible win for First Amendment rights and religious liberties, both of which are foundational to our great nation.
