Washington, D.C. — Representative Stephanie Bice (OK-05) issued the following statement after the passage of the FY 2023 omnibus spending package:

Washington, D.C. — Today, the United States House of Representatives passed the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2023. This legislation overturns Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, works to counter China, increases defense funding to keep pace with inflation, and provides a 4.6% pay raise for our servicemembers. Furthermore, Republicans in Congress were successful in eliminating many unrelated defense items from this legislation. Congresswoman Bice was successful in adding over 30 provisions to this year’s NDAA.

Washington, D.C. — Yesterday, Representatives Stephanie Bice (R-OK) and Paul D. Tonko (D-NY) introduced the Department of Energy Clean Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Research, Development, and Demonstration Act of 2022, bipartisan legislation that would empower the Department of Energy (DOE) to strengthen its efforts to support R&D of clean hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.

Washington, D.C.- Rep. Bice (R-OK) and Rep. Stevens (D-MI) introduced H.R. 9125, the Safe Leave for Victims of Domestic Violence Act. The legislation would expand the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 so that employees can take unpaid leave to meet their needs related to being a victim of dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, or stalking. Importantly, it would allow victims of domestic violence and sexual assault to handle their affairs without fear of losing their job. The YWCA of OKC has formally endorsed H.R. 9125.

Washington, D.C. — Representative Stephanie Bice (R-OK) joined Representative Mike Rogers (R-AL), Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC), and fellow HASC Republicans in seeking answers from Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on the Department of Defense’s (DoD) COVID-19 vaccination mandate for servicemembers. The letter comes after President Biden’s declaration that the “pandemic is over” and follows concerns raised in a June 2, 2022, memorandum by the Department of Defense Inspector General (DOD IG) on denials of religious accommodation requests for the COVID-19 vaccine.
