Washington, D.C. – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act of 2023. This legislation has two fundamental goals: secure the border and combat illegal immigration. H.R. 2 is a comprehensive plan which will restart construction of the border wall, hire more border patrol agents, deploy new and improved technology, strengthen the current law to combat human trafficking, and protect our communities from fentanyl.

Washington, D.C.- Rep. Bice (R-OK) and Rep. Stevens (D-MI) introduced H.R. 2996, the Safe Leave for Victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking Act. The legislation would expand the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 so that employees can take unpaid leave to meet their needs related to being a victim of dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, or stalking.

Washington, D.C.- Today, Congresswoman Bice released the following statement after voting for H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023. This legislation protects fair competition in women’s athletics by enshrining Title IX gender-based protections.

“We can no longer fail to acknowledge basic biological differences between males and females. I will always support policies that protect a level-playing field and promote fairness. Today’s vote is an important step in safeguarding not only women’s sports but the athletes as well.”

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Stephanie Bice (OK-05) reintroduced the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Radio Modernization Act, which directs NOAA to replace the outdated technology currently in use throughout its weather radio system. This bill is vital for stations that serve areas with little or no reliable quality cell phone service by ensuring they receive adequate upgrades for existing systems relating to weather alerts, such as tornadoes, earthquakes, avalanches, or chemical releases.

The bill would streamline and improve the permitting process for energy development, remove duplicative regulations, and better respect the rights of private mineral holders. A companion bill was reintroduced in the Senate by Senator John Hoeven (R-N.D.).
