For four years, House Republicans have waged an uphill battle, working to halt the most damaging policies of the Biden-Harris Administration, while implementing pro-growth and pro-American policies. However, a new day is approaching. The American people have given us a mandate to govern and to get our country back on track. We're moving on and we're turning the page, which is something that the American people desperately need and deserve.
Energy is a key foundation of a strong economy. Energy prices affect everything: from the price of harvesting goods, transporting goods to stores, powering our homes and businesses, and numerous other essential services. Over the last few years, we have become increasingly dependent on foreign adversaries for energy resources, compromising our safety, straining our economy, and impacting the wallets of every American citizen. As the world continues to grow more unstable, we have seen the consequences of these actions.
The crisis at the southern border has endangered every single state and community in our nation. Due to the policies of this administration, we are seeing increased national security threats from terrorists entering the country, human and drug trafficking, and countless deaths from fentanyl. Today is a day of remembrance. It marks the anniversary of the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust. As we remember the mass tragedy invoked upon Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East, we cannot forget that the United States has continually stood against terror and oppression across the globe.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has evolved as a viable threat to our nation through their deceptive and aggressive actions. House Republicans have taken decisive steps to counteract this growing threat and reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding American interests at home and abroad from our foreign adversaries. The CCP's antagonistic strategies have only intensified since the Biden-Harris administration took office.

The American Dream is rooted in the belief that hard work leads to a secure and fulfilling life, a vision shared by people both within our borders and around the world. Yet, significant challenges have arisen as Republicans are currently tasked with addressing the economic repercussions of policies enacted by the Biden administration. The burden of increased regulations, higher taxes, and a growing deficit is taking a toll on everyday Americans and their economic well-being.
On Saturday, July 13th, 2024, the nation was shocked to its core. It was on this day that President Trump almost had his life taken away in Pennsylvania. This assassination attempt left others injured and tragically resulted in the passing of Corey Comperatore. In the immediate aftermath, it was clear that the Secret Service director had failed to protect the candidate for President of the United States for the Republican Party. The Secret Service had a no-fail mission, and unfortunately, they failed.
As August approaches, I’m looking forward to being at home in Oklahoma and taking advantage of the opportunity to meet and engage with constituents across the Fifth Congressional District. Since Congress’s early years, August has traditionally been a district work period, and this time away from the Capitol is dedicated for Members of Congress to return to their home districts and states, engage directly with their constituents, and immerse themselves in the local issues that matter most to their communities.
