Congresswoman Bice Votes for the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024
Washington, D.C.- Today, the House of Representatives voted to pass the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024, legislation which includes six appropriations bills: Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration; Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; Interior, Environment; Military Construction, Veterans Affairs; and Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development. This package provides targeted cuts to wasteful non-defense programs. Importantly, it strategically reduces spending in a responsible and sustainable manner.
Congresswoman Bice issued the following statement:
“Over the last few years, we have seen drastic increases in spending and a skyrocketing national debt. This year’s first six appropriations bills include the first spending cuts to non-defense, non-VA spending in the last ten years. Let me be frank, the process to get here was rigorous. However, I voted for this legislation that begins the process of halting out-of-control spending. House Republicans are delivering on a promise to change the trajectory of federal spending and put an end to budgetary waste without harming our veterans or national security.”
