Bice Announces Congressional App Challenge for OK-05

May 23, 2022

Washington, D.C. – Representative Stephanie Bice’s office is excited to host the Congressional App Challenge (CAC) for middle school and high school students in Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District.

The CAC is a competition aimed at encouraging students to learn how to code by creating their own applications, while highlighting the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education.

“I’m excited for the bright minds of OK-05 students to participate in the Congressional App Challenge,” Rep. Bice said. “STEM and computer-based skills are essential for economic growth and innovation in our country. To maintain American competitiveness, it’s vital that our children develop these valuable skills.”

Students are eligible to register and submit applications from June 24 through November 1. The competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience.

Winners will be selected by panels of judges drawn from the 5th district. Their apps are eligible to be featured on display in the U.S. Capitol, the official website of the U.S. House of Representatives (house.gov), and on the Congressional App Challenge website.
